What is Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP)?

Adenosine Triphosphate, also known as ATP or energy currency, is a molecule that stores and transfers energy in cells.

ATP can be used to store energy so it can be used later for future reactions or it can be used to provide energy at the moment when the body needs it.
