The subscapular region is the area around the shoulder blade.

The subscapularis is the rotator cuff’s largest and strongest muscle. The rotator cuff muscles help maintain glenohumeral joint stability and are critical in shoulder movement. The subscapularis muscle is located on the scapula’s anterior surface. It starts in the medial and lower two-thirds of the groove on the lateral boundary of the subscapular fossa.
