How to create online course

In this video, we provide step-by-step instructions on how to set up the outline of your course and how to use the course settings appropriately.

Summary:

  • Sign in
  • Go to ‘course’ in the left hand side menu.
  • ‘Add new’ in the top right hand corner
  • Type up the SEO title and meta description at the bottom of the page
  • Click on ‘builder’ at the top of the page
  • Then add modules. You can click on the arrow to expand the module to add lessons and quizzes. 

How to add and edit modules

In this video, we show you how to edit the added modules and the two ways of adding content to your modules.

Summary:

  • Go to ‘modules’ in the left hand side menu
  • Click on ‘edit’ under the module you wish to edit
  • Type up SEO title and meta description at the bottom of the page (this is what is displayed in google search results so make sure it is well written and enticing)
  • Go back to the top of the page where you can see the text box. Here is where you can add your lesson content. You can also click on ‘add media’ to add any supporting images. To add videos, head over to ‘test’ on the right-hand side of the text box and place your ’embed code’.
  • The second option is to edit with elementor, which is a ‘drag and drop visual editor.

How to upload documents and video transcripts

In this video, we show you how to upload supportive guides, documents and video transcripts to your lessons.

Summary:

  • Upload document to an online platform like one drive or Dropbox
  • Go to ‘share’ and copy to document link making sure that it is only to vide rather than edit
  • Once you have the link, go to the lesson you wish to upload your document to
  • Go to lesson ‘settings’ at the top of the lesson page
  • Select the very top toggle for ‘lesson materials’
  • Type in your document name eg. Download recipe book
  • Select/highlight the document name and click on the ‘insert link’ button and insert your link
  • Make sure to click on the ‘setting’ toggle for the link, and select to open in a new tab so students are not taken away from the lesson
  • Then update lesson.

How to upload videos to your lessons

In this video, we show you how to upload videos to your lessons. 

Summary:

  • Upload the video to the likes of Vimeo or YouTube. make sure the video is private so nobody else has access other than the Nutrition2change Academy students
  • Select embed and copy the embed link
  • Go to the lesson you wish to upload the video to 
  • On the right hand side of  the box where you normally insert the lesson content, select ‘text’ tab instead of visual
  • Paste the embed link
  • Return to the visual tab at the top right hand side of the content box 
  • Check the video is displaying correctly, and if it is, update lesson

How to add quizzes and questions

Adding quizzes and questions is just as simple as adding modules and lessons.
